HubSpot ClickUp Free Integration: What You Actually Get
Every integration option between HubSpot and ClickUp has some version of "free" in its marketing. Here's what that actually means when you try to use it.
Native integration: "Free"
The integration itself costs nothing to install. No subscription fee. Sounds great until you check the requirements.
ClickUp side: Requires Unlimited plan or above. That's $7 per user per month. If your team has 10 people, that's $70/month just to unlock the integration.
HubSpot side: The integration connects on any tier. But workflow automation — the part that actually creates tasks from deals automatically — requires HubSpot Professional. That's $90+ per seat per month on Sales Hub.
So "free" means: free ($0) + ClickUp Unlimited ($7/user/mo) + HubSpot Professional ($90+/seat/mo).
One reviewer put it bluntly: "Felt pretty misleading to find out there is literally no benefit unless you are at the professional tier."
Oh, and custom field mapping? Not supported in HubSpot workflows. So even after you pay for Professional, you still can't map most of your deal data to ClickUp fields.
Zapier: "Free plan available"
Zapier's free plan gives you 100 tasks per month and single-step Zaps only.
A single-step Zap can do one thing: HubSpot deal created → create ClickUp task. No field mapping beyond what the single step supports. No bidirectional. No conditional logic.
With 100 deals/month and basic sync, you'll burn through 100 tasks in the first month. If any deal triggers multiple updates, faster than that.
Multi-step Zaps — where you'd add field mapping, formatting, type conversion, filters — require Zapier Professional at $49/month. Bidirectional sync needs 3-5 Zaps on the Team plan at $69/month.
The real free experience: basic deal-creates-task. No custom fields. No updates. One direction only. 100/month cap.
Make: "Free tier included"
Make gives you 1,000 operations per month on the free plan.
One scenario run (checking HubSpot for changes) consumes operations whether or not there are changes. Polling every 15 minutes = ~2,880 operations/month just from checking. That's almost 3x your free quota before you sync a single record.
To actually run a useful HubSpot↔ClickUp sync, you need $9-29/month.
Unito: pricing depends
Unito moved away from transparent pricing. There's no straightforward free tier for HubSpot+ClickUp sync.
Their pricing page shows a calculator based on connectors, items in sync, and features. Each synced item counts as 2 (one per tool). 50 synced deals = 100 items.
For meaningful use, expect $50-150/month.
ClickSync: actually free
I'll be direct — I built this, so factor that in.
The free tier: 1 sync pair, 100 records, all features, no credit card required, no trial countdown.
All features means: bidirectional sync, custom field mapping, dropdown mapping by name, loop prevention, duplicate prevention, error log with retry. Same feature set as Pro.
The limit is scale (1 sync pair, 100 records), not capabilities.
Pro is $29/month for unlimited sync pairs and records.
The real comparison
| Tool | "Free" gets you | To actually sync deals↔tasks with fields |
|---|---|---|
| Native | Nothing useful without paid plans | ~$97+/user/mo (ClickUp Unlimited + HubSpot Pro) |
| Zapier | 100 single-step tasks/mo | $49-69/mo |
| Make | ~1,000 ops (not enough for polling) | $9-29/mo |
| Unito | No meaningful free tier | ~$50-150/mo |
| ClickSync | Full features, 1 pair, 100 records | $29/mo for unlimited |
If 100 records is enough to test the concept and see if it solves your problem, you can do it at $0 with ClickSync. No other option in this table gives you all features at zero cost.
